Wow - it's tight at the top! In fact, it couldn't be any tighter. The points are level, with Cheetham Hill and Warrington both sitting on 155 points with one game remaining in the first half of the season before the Christmas and New Year break.

Cheetham Hill hosted Liverpool. Could Liverpool produce a second upset in a row after their victory against Warrington last week? Things started well for Liverpool as Cory recovered from losing the first game, to dominate Stephen Hearst. However, the fourth game was decided on a tie break as Cory felt the tension approaching the finishing line. George Parker was playing for the first time this season. The ex-world no.30 has been struggling with his hips but showed he's still very, very good as he won the first game against the current World No.30, Nick Wall. Nick dominated the next two games by never relinquishing the middle of the court, making George do a gargantuan amount of work. George 'The Boxer' Parker fought back valiantly in the fourth but, in the end Nick was too good when he could step up and control the T. The match was tied at 1-1.

Cheetham then won the next three matches comfortably enough, with wins from Jordan, Josh and Finn.

Meanwhile Warrington we're having a more straightforward night against Grove Park, making the most of a Grove Park without Emyr Evans and Joel Arscott who were at the World Team Championships representing their countries, while Grove regular Luke McFarland was also absent. Warrington won all 5 matches 3-0 but Rui had to play superbly well to beat the strong, fit, Joel Makin clone, Will Salter. It was ok though, because there were more important things going on for the players - the Warrington Christmas Dinner! It was a legendary feast for all, even the spectators were treated to free food and drink all evening too.

The Northern 2nd team beat City Of Manchester 5-0, but the result was far from straight forward. The Northern won three 3/2's, so if they had gone the other way they would have lost!

Rhys Evans impressed once again for Wrexham as he beat Michael Andrews 3-1, impressively dominating the fourth game to show his superiority. People who are watching Rhys play regularly are getting very excited at his future prospects. However, Rhys was unable to inspire his team to victory, as The Northern claimed an important 4-1 team win.

Bowdon continue their climb up the table with a 3-2 win vs Alderley Edge.
